MARSEILLES' CMA CGM, in partnership with Chilean shipping company CSAV, will upgrade its Victory Bridge service from October, linking North Europe, South Atlantic, Mexico and the US Gulf by five 3,000-TEU vessels - three from CMA CGM and two from CSAV.
The port of Savannah and Felixstowe will be dropped from the rotation to be serviced instead by the French carrier's Round the World and Liberty Bridge service with the addition of a Rotterdam call for north European exporters and reefer importers.
"This service will deliver even more value for our customers providing them with fast transit times for refrigerated and dry cargo as well as improved capacity to support their development on the growing markets between north Europe, the US and Mexico," said CMA CGM vice president Jean-Philippe Thenoz, reported American Shipper.
The port rotation will allow for a direct route and faster transit from South Florida to North Europe, and increase to two weekly sailing between Mexico and North Europe. The rotation will be as follows: Le Havre, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Charleston, Miami, Vera Cruz, Altamira, Houston, Miami, Le Havre.
